Warmth on a Snowy Day, Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York

After a day of shoveling snow yesterday, I had suspicions that the sunset would be great. I headed to Coney Island Beach, just 10 minutes from my home. As I traversed a good foot of snow on the beach to get to the shore, the colors blew up.
Amidst all the snow and cold, I had the feeling of warmth – I was smiling inside. I really needed this as the following week, starting tonight, will be very challenging for me. I hope you get that happy feeling by looking at this shot. Have a fantastic weekend!

"Warmth on a Snowy Day"

Technique: When I saw the sun come from under the clouds, I pulled out my Lee 0.9 ND hard-edge grad to get the exposure just right. This photograph is a single-shot RAW file, processed in Adobe Lightroom 3, as all my images are. No further Photoshop processing was required.
